Body

The dominant tent roof characteristic of the earlier house designs is here repeated and further developed on a larger scale through the addition of towers and gables. The large circular main tower suggests that the architect was familiar with reproductions of villas designed by Saarinen and his contemporaries, which may have served as models for a house of this scale. Both the towers and the gable reappear in subsequent designs.

In Kós’s later work, he abandoned the monolithic character produced in this project by the strongly unified roof form. He later adopted an agglutinative design approach, adding distinct tectonic elements. This method allowed for a clearer articulation of individual components—such as the tower—which in this design still plays a secondary role.
