Body

The small wooden bell tower rests on four robust rubble-stone pillars set into the wall of the ancient earthwork fortification, near the Gothic monastic church of Kolozsmonostor, today part of the outskirts of Cluj.

It is not known whether the original client was the Roman Catholic Church or the Greek Catholic Church, as it was precisely during this period that the latter took the site on a 25-year lease. The Greek Catholic Church collaborated with Károly Kós on several occasions. In the late 1990s, the church was returned to the use of the Roman Catholic Church. On that occasion, the bell tower was also restored as part of the rehabilitation works.
