Body
A Romanesque church dating from the 13th–14th centuries, rebuilt several times over the centuries. It acquired its present form in 1720. Its restoration was directed by Kós Károly in 1936. The Calvinist church of Bonchida may have inspired several of Kós Károly’s later church designs, such as those planned for Írisztelep or Siklód.
Kós Károly’s organized activity in the field of monument preservation can be dated from 1930, when, at a meeting of the Monuments Committee of the Transylvanian Calvinist Church District, he presented his proposals concerning the survey, documentation, and care of historic monuments.
