Body
A comparison of Kós Károly’s original sketch drawings with the completed parsonage shows how sensitively the architect was affected by the success or failure of a building. In this case, the architect’s original intention elevated the building much more distinctly from the ground, almost turning the basement into a second storey. As a result, the entrance colonnade and staircases became more dramatic elements of the composition, which was powerfully concluded by the simple, forceful form of the steeply curved roof. The absence of such elements means that the building remains a completely ordinary component of the rural landscape.
