Károly Kós submitted the first version of the design to the client on 28 February 1928. In the accompanying letter, he outlined the essence of the commission: the design of a new, modern parsonage (including an indoor toilet) making use of the foundations of an existing building. As an organic extension of the parsonage, a large hall comparable in size to the Nagybacon cultural centre was also planned. This first design closely resembles that building; however, the project was ultimately not realized in this form.

One year later, Kós submitted further alternatives: one including a smaller (meeting) hall, and another omitting the large hall entirely. The latter version—without the large hall—served as the basis for the construction of the new parsonage, albeit with minor and later modifications (including changes to the office façade and roof form, the entrance canopy, and the cellar entrance canopy).

In a second letter dated 28 February 1929, Kós explicitly warned the pastor:

“Do not allow any external influence whatsoever, because every ill-considered, unprofessional, and illogical alteration can only diminish both the artistic effect and the practical usability of the building.”

(The correspondence related to the construction is preserved in the ownership of the Reformed Church.)
