Body
This small church shows many parallels with Kós’s drawing entitled Hungarian Church in Kalotaszeg, published in Old Kalotaszeg. Such utopian reconstructions of medieval architecture strongly occupied the architect’s imagination at the time and provided impetus for numerous architectural projects. Other related examples include the Bison House of the Budapest Zoo and the design for the house of Béla Fekete Nagy (1910). The contemporary relevance of the drawing is underscored by the fact that the present church was constructed in 1912.
