Body

The villagers purchased the still-existing small wooden church of the neighboring village of Sztána and renovated it according to Kós’s designs, adding a new stone tower. On a smaller scale, this tower closely resembled the tower of the new church in Sztána.

Regarding the church at Kispetri, Kós recounted the following to Samu Benkő:

“Well, first of all, in Sztána I built a church for the Romanians. They had a small wooden church, which they sold to the people of Kispetri. I restored that one as well and added a tower to it. In Erdőfalva, too, I was the one who transformed the Romanian wooden church.”
